Getting the Perfect Brow with Microblading
Microblading is a form of permanent tattooing, but uses extremely precise and hair-like strokes to replicate the look of natural brows. We make these strokes with a handheld manual tool to intricately draw each individual hair stroke. Pigment in a variety of custom tones are placed into the dermis layer of your skin where they will fill out your brows for 1 to 2 years or longer with occasional touchups.
Our technicians at The Brow Bar are able to turn your existing brows into the shape and fullness you want with microblading, but this does not alter the way that your brows currently grow since the treatment does not get deep enough to reach the hair follicles. Instead, microblading will enhance the look of that natural growth.
For our microblading process at The Brow Bar, we work individually with each of our clients. We use hand drawing, never stencils, to design your brows and create a look that is on trend, flattering for your face, and gives you the confidence you want.
Our process for eyebrow microblading looks like this:
- Initial Consultation – You will speak with your artist about the kind of look you want to achieve, such as fuller or thicker brows, specific shaping, and symmetry. You can bring in photos for this part of the process to make sure you and your artist are on the same page.
- Preparation – We will do an initial cleanup to remove any stray brow hairs and get your natural brow into the right shape. We will also numb the area with topical anesthesia. Since this is a tattoo, there can be minimal discomfort that the numbing cream will help reduce.
- Drawing and Design – We will draw on the brow shape with a pencil to match your desired look and flows with the contours of your face. You will have the opportunity to review and make any changes you like to your shape. We will not begin until we create a shape you love and have your verbal approval.
- Needling Process – Once we are sure we have the right look, we start the actual microblading process, using feathering to create the light strokes that will fill in your eyebrow shape.
The entire appointment often lasts for less than 3 hours. Afterward, we recommend scheduling a perfecting session 4 to 12 weeks after your initial appointment. This is a chance for us to make any final adjustments and fill in areas where pigment is lighter.
The finished brows last approximately 1 to 2 years, although you can also use touch ups to keep your brows looking fresh.
